The Paparoa Track Te Ara o Paparoa is our newest Great Walk. The track will be opened on 1 December 2019 and traverses the Paparoa Range from Blackball to Punakaiki. It takes you through alpine tops, limestone karst landscapes and thriving rainforests, and provides breath-taking views.
The Pike29 Memorial Track between the Pike River Mine site and the Paparoa Track on the top of the range is still under construction. There is no public access at either end of the Track.
This map shows a large part of the Paparoa National Park and the adjacent reserves. Its large scale and comprehensive coverage enhances the tramping experience.
